The Way of Salvation

Through the study of nature we see there is a God.
Through the study of the Bible we discover who God is;
For the Bible is God’s way of revealing Himself to man.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  2 Peter 1:20-21

God is the Creator of all things

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day.  Exodus 20:11
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him; And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  Colossians 1:16-17

God’s original creation was a perfect paradise until it became cursed because of man’s rebellion against God.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat; and it was so.  And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.  Genesis 1:30-31. . . cursed is the ground for they sake, . . . Genesis 3:17
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.  Romans 5;12

God is Love, but also the Righteous Judge.

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Psalm 86:5But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth.  Jeremiah 9:24

The world-wide flood of Noah’s day is one example of God’s righteous judgment of sin.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.  And the Lord said “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.” But Noah found grad in the eyes of the Lord.  Genesis 6:5-8  (for more examples of God’s judgment of sin see: Gen. 18:20-19:28, Jonah 1-3; Acts 5:1-11; Num. 21:5-9; Luke 16:19-31)

Just as God instructed Noah of the way to survive the flood; He instructs us of the way to avoid the eternal punishment of Hell, and to enter into the eternal paradise of Heaven.

The following verses offer an abbreviated look at God’s instructions.  For a clearer picture, also read the first 10 chapters of Genesis, the book of John, and Revelation 20-22.For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romands 3:23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9
